(i) Candidate can apply only for one examination i.e., either for 9th Food Analyst Examination, 2023 (9th FAE, 2023) or for 6th Junior Analyst Examination, 2023 (6th JAE, 2023). |
(ii) All candidates applying for Junior Analyst or Food Analyst examination have to appear for the Computer Based Test (CBT). |
(iii) CBT qualifying candidates applying for 9th FAE, 2023 have to appear for Practical Examination. |
(iv) CBT qualifying candidates applying for 6th JAE, 2023 need not to appear for Practical Examination. |
(v) Applications are to be submitted only through online mode. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered. |
(vi) Candidate applying for JAE should fulfil the eligibility criteria of Junior Analyst as given below: |
∙ Educational Qualification: Same as that of Food Analyst as on closing date of application, as prescribed in Advertisement published for 6th JAE, 2023.

∙ Experience: No experience required.

(vii) Candidate applying for Food Analyst should fulfil the eligibility criteria of Food Analyst as prescribed in advertisement published for 9th FAE 2023. |
(viii) The first, middle and last name should be mentioned correctly. Candidates should ensure that the spelling of the name given in the registration form is correct as the certificate will be issued accordingly, no further request for change in name or spelling will be entertained after issuance of certificate. |
(ix) The name of the candidate mentioned in academic or experience documents (uploading in the application form) should be same as given in registration form. In case of any change in the name, sufficient supporting documents (eg: Marriage certificate) should be uploaded during the time of application, otherwise the candidature shall be cancelled. |
(x) For FAE, not less than three years’ experience in analysis of food in any ISO: 17025 accredited food testing laboratory/research institutions/ research laboratory is mandatory, for fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Experience certificate should be submitted in the prescribed format only. |
(xi) Experience of the candidate will be calculated only from the date of graduation (minimum academic qualification as prescribed for the FAE) till the closing date of application. |
(xii) The experience gained by the candidates before qualifying the minimum academic qualification as prescribed for the FAE and after the closing date of application will not be taken into consideration. |
(xiii) Experience gained by the candidate during academic programmes such as Post Graduate, Doctoral Programme/SRF/JRF, etc will not be considered. |
(xiv) Pre-qualified Junior Analyst after gaining requisite experience (3 years of experience in food analysis) can appear directly for the Practical Examination for one time. |
(xv) Submission of documents at the time of application is considered to be final. Any further revisions or any requests with respect to resubmission of documents will not be entertained. |
(xvi) No relaxation in the Educational Qualification and/or experience is permissible. |
(xvii) Acceptance of the applications is subject to verification of supporting documents submitted by the candidates. If documents with respect to educational qualification and experience (in case of FAE) are found to be inadequate, the application will be rejected. |
(xviii) The examination fee should be paid only for accepted applications. |
(xix) Examination fee is to be paid only through online mode. Fee submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. |
(xx) There shall be no refund of fee at any stage. In case fee is paid for one application more than once, then excess fee will be refunded. |
(xxi) Choice of examination centre is available in the online form. However, examination centres may be changed subject to the availability of the candidates for the respective examination centre. |
(xxii) Mere submission of application / fulfilment of eligibility conditions will not confer any right on the candidate to be shortlisted / called for written test/ interview/issuance of certificate/job. |
(xxiii) All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities / Institutions in India or abroad. |
(xxiv) The “FSSAI” reserves the right to call for CBT/ Practical Exam only those candidates who in its opinion are most suitable for the certificate. The “FSSAI” also reserves the right to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof. |
(xxv) The decision of The “FSSAI” in all matters regarding Eligibility, shortlisting of candidates, conduct of CBT and Practical Exam and issuance of certificate will be final and binding on the applicants and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. |
(xxvi) The “FSSAI” takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt in postal transit of certificates. The permanent address filled by the applicant will be considered for dispatch of the certificates after qualifying the examination (JAE/FAE). |
(xxvii) Canvassing in any form will straightway disqualify the candidature. |
(xxviii) I know that the admission to the examination will be purely provisional and on verification at any later stage, if it is found that I am not fulfilling all eligibility conditions; my candidature will be cancelled/ rejected and fee paid for examination will be forfeited. |
(xxix) Examinations are not for providing employment by FSSAI. |
